GREY GOOSE Cherry Noir and soda

4th of July is coming, and that’s reason enough to break out a few patriotic and otherwise celebratory drinks. So below, we’ve rounded up a few 4th of July cocktails that pay homage to America or just simply taste great on a hot day. Check below for the recipes, thereby ensuring you can celebrate your independence just as our forefathers intended–with a drink in hand.

mulberry project firing squad

From Mulberry Project’s Jeremy Strawn, we’ve got a drink that uses spirits from two of America’s oldest distilleries, plus a little Absinthe to show our appreciation to our French Allies during the Revolutionary War.

1 oz Lairds Applejack Brandy
1 oz Rittenhouse Rye
.75 oz Tawny 10yr Port
.75 oz Lemon Juice
1 tsp Pomegranated Molasses

Shake hard and strain into and Absinthe-rinsed rocks glass. Add one large ice cube and garnish with a mint sprig.

Cur Non cocktail

Created by Hennessy’s Jordan Bushell, this cocktail pays homage to the Hermione, the French ship captained by Marquis de Lafayette that brought aid to America during the revolution. “Cur Non,” which translates to “Why Not?” was the Lafayette family motto.

2 oz Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège Cognac
1 oz Apricot Brandy
1 oz Dry Vermouth
¼ oz fresh squeezed lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with an orange twist.

Dawn's Early Light cocktail

2 oz Hangar 1 Straight Vodka
.75 oz lemon
2 tbsp apricot preserves, sliced
Club soda

Combine all ingredients in a small, lidded container, such as a jam jar. Muddle ingredients, then shake for 20 seconds to chill. Top with a splash of club soda.

New Amsterdam Electrolyte cocktail

This one’s just a simple, refreshing drink that would go nicely with a hot dog at your backyard barbecue.

2.5 oz New Amsterdam Gin
1 tsp sugar
1 oz pineapple juice
2 slices fresh watermelon
Splash of lemon juice

Muddle the watermelon slices and combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add plenty of ice. Shake vigorously for eight seconds. Pour contents into a highball glass and garnish with a watermelon slice.

GREY GOOSE Cherry Noir and soda

When serving a lot of guests, it’s good to keep things simple. In this example, we’re opting for a unique garnish, rather than an elaborate recipe, to make this drink stand out.

1.5 oz Grey Goose Cherry Noir Vodka
3 oz club soda
2 lemon wedges
Oregano branch

Build in a glass with ice. Squeeze in juice from one lemon wedge and discard it. Add vodka, top with chilled soda and garnish with lemon and oregano.

These cocktails sounds lovely. I love how you serve Dawns’s Early Light in a mason jar with apricot preserves. Such a nice touch!
