Korbel 12 Year Old Brandy is the distillery’s oldest and most premium expression, blended from brandies aged between 12 and 17 years in American oak. It undergoes a final distillation in a copper-lined still, meant to pay homage to Francis Korbel’s original methods back in the late 19th century. It’s a very good sipping brandy, garnering quite a few critical accolades.
Founded by Francis Korbel in Northern California’s Russian River Valley in 1882, Korbel began as a winery producing sparkling wines in the style of classic French champagne. Seven years later, they began distilling brandy, and have been a household name ever since.
