Bijou is a french term meaning “jewel,” and the jewel of this drink is the emerald that is Green Chartreuse. Made of 130 herbs and spices, Chartreuse has a distinct flavor that gives this cocktail an aromatic, dry nose that is balanced by the sweetness of Plymouth Gin and orange bitters. You may have noticed the Bijou popping up on cocktail menus everywhere, and for good reason.
|3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth|
|3/4 oz Gin|
|3/4 oz Green Chartreuse|
|1 dash Orange bitters|
Preparation: How to make a Bijou Cocktail
- Shake all ingredients (except the cherry) with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
- Add the cherry on top and serve.
