The Blue Hawaiian is a vibrant, tropical cocktail that can either be served on the rocks or blended. It's made with white rum, pineapple juice, blue curaçao (a blue-colored orange liqueur, hence the name and neon hue), and cream of coconut, and while that isn't the most subtle flavor combination in the world, it's certainly one that goes great with the beach.
The Blue Hawaiian dates back to the mid-20th century, and falls squarely under the umbrella of old-school tiki drinks. It likely takes its name from the 1961 Elvis Presley flick Blue Hawaii.
