The classic Gimlet is a simple, three-ingredient drink that most closely resembles its rum-based cousin the Daiquiri. Some recipes call for sweetened, bottled lime juice, but we always recommend using fresh-squeezed juice whenever possible. It makes the drink taste fresher, and it doesn’t have all those weird, preservative-y flavors that go along with juices from concentrate.
|2 oz gin|
|0.5 oz lime juice|
|0.5 oz simple syrup|
|Lime wheel or twist for garnish|
Preparation: How to make a Gimlet
- Add gin, lime juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a lime wheel or twist and serve.
