Green Tea Mojito Recipe

This refreshing Green Tea Mojito is taken from Paul Abercrombie's Organic, Shaken and Stirred, and it's a great drink for the spring and summer months. It's a play on the classic Mojito recipe that adds chilled green tea and, optionally, shiso leaves to give the cocktail a bit of Asian flair. The original calls for sugar, but we substituted simple syrup in order to makes things a little less crunchy at the bottom of your glass.

Ingredients

1 oz white rum
0.5 oz fresh lime juice
4 large mint leaves (or 1 shiso leaf, torn into several large pieces)
1 barspoon simple syrup
4 oz brewed green tea, chilled

Preparation: How to make a Green Tea Mojito

  1. Lightly muddle lime juice, mint or shiso, and simple syrup in a Collins glass.
  2. Fill glass with ice and add rum and green tea.
  3. Stir lightly.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of lime or a shiso leaf and serve.
