This is a snazzy little Moscow Mule variation from It involves making lavender syrup (worth it), the recipe for which is below:

0.5 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender

Combine the sugar and dried food-grade lavender in a heat-proof bowl.
Pour boiling water over the sugar and lavender, and stir for a few seconds until the sugar is dissolved. Let the lavender steep for 10-15 minutes.
Strain the lavender out and let the syrup come to room temperature, then refrigerate.


1 oz lemon juice
2 oz vodka
1 oz elderflower syrup
2 oz ginger beer
Lavender syrup
Lavender ice cubes (optional)

Preparation: How to make a Lavender Mule

  1. To make the lavender ice cubes, place a few pinches of dried culinary lavender in a ice cube tray, cover with water and freeze. (I also threw in a few dried food-grade rose petals for color and aroma.)
  2. Combine all the cocktail ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, stir until chilled and strain over lavender ice cubes.
