The New York Brandy Sour has various recipes, including variations containing egg whites and other citrus juices. Some even exclude Brandy in favor of cognac or rye whiskey. The one thing that defines this cocktail is the bordeaux or dark red wine which is used as a float after the drink is prepared. This stunningly beautiful addition gives the drink an unmistakable color and dry rich flavor.
