Sazerac #3

The Sazerac is a spirit-forward cocktail that is served neat. It typically consists of whiskey mixed with Peychaud's Bitters (although brandy/cognac is sometimes used instead of whiskey along with other types of bitters). It is often referred to as the oldest known American cocktail.

Ingredients

1 tsp Ricard
1/2 tsp superfine Sugar
2 dashes Peychaud bitters
1 tsp Water
2 oz Bourbon
1 twist of Lemon peel

Preparation: How to make a Sazerac #3

  1. Pour Ricard into a glass and swirl around to coat glass, discard any excess.
  2. Place the sugar, Peychaud bitters, and water into the glass and muddle with the back of a teaspoon.
  3. Almost fill the glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the bourbon over the ice cubes.
