The Sea Breeze cocktail is a simple, fruity drink that dates back to the late 1920s (the height of Prohibition in the United States), but probably enjoyed its heyday in the 1970s. It's made with a citrusy combination of vodka, cranberry juice, and grapefruit juice (we always recommend fresh-squeezed), and is a snap to make at home or at the beach.
The Sea Breeze recipe has gone through a number of transitions over the last century. Early versions included gin, apricot brandy, grenadine, and lemon juice, while later variations used things like Galliano, vermouth, and blue curaçao. But the one we enjoy today is relatively straightforward, and makes for a great summertime refresher.
