Toronto Recipe


The Toronto was a somewhat obscure classic cocktail that has only recently been revived and brought into the spotlight. Fernet adds some bitter, piney notes to the otherwise fairly mellow Canadian whiskey.


2 oz Canadian whisky (or rye)
0.5 oz Fernet Branca
0.25 oz simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Orange twist

Preparation: How to make a Toronto

  1. Combine all in a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe or other cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with an orange twist and serve.
