The Toronto was a somewhat obscure classic cocktail that has only recently been revived and brought into the spotlight. Fernet adds some bitter, piney notes to the otherwise fairly mellow Canadian whiskey.
|2 oz Canadian whisky (or rye)|
|0.5 oz Fernet Branca|
|0.25 oz simple syrup|
|2 dashes Angostura bitters|
How to make a Toronto
- Combine all in a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or other cocktail glass.
- Garnish with an orange twist and serve.
