The Venceremos cocktail (Spanish for “we shall overcome”) was bartender Gn Chan’s winning recipe at the 2016 Bacardi Legacy cocktail competition. It’s a variation on the Piña Colada, but with a Taiwanese twist: cucumber and sesame oil. The Venceremos is refreshing, and features an artful use of vegetal and savory notes to round out what is traditionally a sweet and fruity drink.
|1.5 oz Bacardí Carta Blanca rum|
|0.5 oz coconut liqueur|
|0.8 oz pineapple juice|
|0.5 oz coconut juice|
|0.15 oz fresh lime juice|
|1 dash sesame oil|
|Pineapple leaf for garnish|
Preparation: How to make a Venceremos
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
- Strain into a Hurricane or Old-Fashioned glass over a single, large ice cube.
- Garnish with pineapple leaf and serve.
