The Vodka Tonic is one of those wonderfully self-explanatory mixed drinks, like a Gin and Tonic or Rum and Coke. The tonic water allows some room for variation and experimentation, though, so check out the lesser-known tonic brands at your local liquor store before settling for the likes of Canada Dry and Schweppes—brands such as Fever Tree, Q Tonic and Fentiman’s have much higher-quality products and will make for a superior drink. You can even get creative and mix your own from a tonic syrup, which can be fun to give it more of a DIY element.
