Any creative bartender worth her salt is possessed with one critical skill: an extremely short attention span. While the classic Daiquiri is one of our absolute favorite cocktails (as we’ve said before, it belongs in the pantheon with the Old-FashionedMartiniManhattan, and Negroni), the recipe is a bit too simple to keep us occupied for very long. It’s delicious, but after making two or three we want to try something new.

Thus, through boredom and access to way too many ingredients, are the best new recipes born. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite Daiquiri variations for those of you who are looking to mix up the menu at your next summer party, and we hope you’ll embrace the spirit of creative mixologists everywhere and go even further. Seriously, we’re looking for any excuse to drink some more of these and call it “work.”

Our classic daiquiri recipe is here, and don’t miss our pieces on How to Make a Daiquiri and The History of the Daiquiri!

The frozen Daiquiri is guaranteed to be a crowd favorite at your next summer party. While it has a reputation for being a bit girly, this is just the blended version of Hemingway's favorite—we dare any guy to take a sip and not want another.
  • Light rum, Triple sec, Banana, Lime juice, Sugar, Cherry
The Banana Daiquiri is a frozen Daiquiri that's guaranteed to be a crowd favorite at your next summer party. While it has a reputation for being a bit girly, we dare any guy to take a sip and not want another.

  • White rum, Lime, Simple syrup
The classic Daiquiri is a wonderfully simple cocktail consisting of white rum, lime juice, and sugar. That's it. You should always use fresh-squeezed lime juice, as the bottled stuff comes from concentrate and doesn't taste nearly as good (and, in some cases, can even impart some nasty metallic flavors). To avoid getting clumps of granulated sugar in your Da…
