Diep9 Old Genever

Old Genever

Diep9 Old Genever (pronounced "deep-nine old juh-nee-ver") is a Belgian genever distilled from a blend of rye, wheat, and malted barley, along with nine botanicals. It's then aged for two years in French oak caks from Bordeaux. Genever is a predecessor of gin, originating in the Netherlands and Belgium (hence the English moniker "Holland gin"), that generally carries a maltier, less juniper-forward profile than London Dry gins. The producers of Diep9 recommend sipping this neat or using it in a Martinez or Negroni, and it goes great in a simple Genever Old-Fashioned.
