Patrón Silver Tequila is the un-aged product in Patrón's premium range, distilled from 100% Blue Weber Agave in small batches in Jalisco, Mexico. It's good for mixing in tequila cocktails, but many aficionados balk at the price—$50 is fairly steep within the category, and bottles of comparable quality tend to fall in the $30 range. That hasn't stopped it from earning a loyal following, though, and Patrón Silver has become a hugely popular tequila since it was launched in 1989.
Patrón is a premium tequila brand that, beginning in 2000, began to differentiate itself from other tequilas much the same way that Grey Goose did with vodka. Thanks to numerous celebrity endorsements, it has cemented itself as a staple of pop culture—though, as mentioned above, many people think it's pretty overpriced for the quality.
