Jim Beam Black Extra-Aged Bourbon was originally labeled as an 8-year-old bourbon, but the bottle has since dropped its age statement. It’s bottled at a slightly higher proof than their white label bourbon, and has earned a number of impressive awards.

Jim Beam is, today, the largest bourbon producer in the world. Founded in the 1790s by Jacob Beam (though it was renamed for James Beam in 1933), the continuous operation of their distillery in Clermont, Kentucky was only interrupted during Prohibition—other than that, they’ve been at it for more than 200 years.
