Aberlour A’bunadh is hard to say but a real treat to drink. This unique cask strength whisky is made in homage to the company's founder, James Fleming, and eschews modern processes for traditional methods.
It's matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks and skips the chill filtering, which results in a heavier, creamier single malt that's intensely flavorful. You can expect to find welcome notes of raisins and other dried fruits, plus ginger, dark chocolate, oranges and oak.
Despite its high proof, Aberlour A’bunadh is relatively affordable and a fine companion piece to the 18- and 21-year-old Aberlour whiskies. So if you can find it on store shelves, be sure to pickup a bottle—or two.
