Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is the flagship single malt scotch whisky from the distillery's signature unpeated range. It doesn't carry an age statement, but is nonetheless a nicely robust and mature whisky.
The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 on the Scottish island of Islay, a region known for its characteristically peaty whiskies. The name is pronounced "brook-lad-dee," meaning "stony shore bank" or "raised beach." Their range includes several brands, including an eponymous unpeated line, the "heavily peated" Port Charlotte line, and the "super heavily peated" Octomore line, as well as the critically-acclaimed Botanist Gin. Bruichladdich has recently garnered acclaim for its slick labels and branding, as well as embracing a fairly iconoclastic approach to scotch distilling.
