About the Caribou Lou
The Caribou Lou is a simple, rum- and pineapple-based cocktail that was popularized by Tech-N9ne's 2006 single "Caribou Lou." The lyrics outline the recipe ("151 rum / Pineapple juice and Malibu / Caribou get them all numb"), and while it's not entirely clear where the drink gets its name, it nonetheless became popular seemingly overnight.The most common overproof rum to use in the Caribou Lou is Bacardi 151, but you can use any brand. The same goes for Malibu Rum, which, even though it's mentioned in the song, isn't all that great.
