How to Make an Oyster Shooter

The Oyster Shooter is typically served in a Shot Glass.

Ingredients

0.5 oz vodka
1 small oyster (shucked)
1 oz tomato mixture (see below for recipe)

Preparation

  1. For the tomato mixture, mash a small, pineapple sage leaf at the bottom of a mixing glass. Add 4 oz of tomato juice, 0.3 oz lemon juice, 0.5 tbsp of balsamic vinegar, pinch of salt, pinch of black pepper, dash of Tabasco sauce, and a little grated horseradish and stir very well. Put in refrigerator until chilled (about 2 hours).
  2. Build shooter directly in a large shot glass (or small tumbler glass) by combining vodka and the tomato mixture from above.
  3. Serve on a tray over ice with the oyster and a lemon slice.
  4. Alternatively, drop the oyster into the glass and serve with a lemon slice.
