Elijah Craig 23 is a rare, single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey that is aged for 23 years. It is the most mature offering in Elijah Craig’s standard range.Kentucky-grown grains form the base of Elijah Craig’s bourbon. Corn, malted barley, rye, wheat are combined with Kentucky limestone water to create a mash which is distilled in traditional copper pot stills.The whiskey is then transferred to new oak barrels, which have been charred over an open flame for approximately 40 seconds. Over time, the Master Distillers at Elijah Craig select exceptional barrels for further aging—barrels that will ultimately become Elijah Craig 23—a rich, brown whiskey with aromas of buttered popcorn and citrus, and flavors of honey, tobacco, cocoa, and vanilla.Wine Enthusiast has awarded Elijah Craig 23 with a rating of 97 points, and has listed the rare offering on its list of “Top 100 Spirits.”
