  1. A non-alcoholic, carbonated beverage made by fermenting ginger and sugar with yeast. Ginger Beer tends to be spicier than ginger ale, and it is used in numerous cocktails. It was popularized in Europe in the 1700s, thanks to the abundance of ginger imported from Asia.
