  1. Something used to decorate a beverage. Garnishes are often used with cocktails, but occasionally with neat spirits or non-alcoholic drinks as well. The garnish may or may not be edible, and sometimes imparts a flavor or aroma to the beverage. Other times, a garnish is simply decorative.

  • Orange twist
  • Lime wedge
  • Maraschino cherry
  • Mint
  • Ground nutmeg
