Irish whiskey

1. A variety of whiskey produced in Ireland. Irish whiskey is generally malty in character, and lacks the smokiness of many Scotch whiskies. Currently, there are only seven whiskey distilleries in Ireland, but a number are slated to open in the coming years thanks to the recent craft spirits boom.

Note: Irish whiskey, like American whiskey, is typically spelled with an “e.”
