1921 reposado tequila1921 Reposado Tequila is part of the lineup that also includes a Blanco, Anejo and cream liqueur. Each product is distilled in the highlands region of Jalisco, and apart from the cream liqueur, each tequila is 100% agave.

The 1921 Reposado Tequila gets its light straw coloring from spending a few months aging in American oak. On the nose, its intensely floral with hints of agave and fruit. A buttery sweetness lies subtly in the background.

Take a sip and taste oaky vanilla, sweet fruit and some peppery spice. Aside from the pepper notes, its very smooth on the palate with a medium-bodied mouth feel. The taste moves toward earthy, nutty flavors, and it finishes a bit dry, with some agave and pepper.

Sipped neat, the 1921 Reposado holds its own. There’s not a ton going on, but it has a nice balance between sweet and dry, fruit and spice. It works just fine in a Margarita, if that’s your thing, but there’s no need to mask the spirit.

All in all, it’s a very good reposado tequila with one notable negative: the wax-sealed cork is difficult to remove. I don’t like objects that delay my drinking.
