Today Absolut added a new flavor to its portfolio: Absolut Lime. The Pernod Ricard-owned company already sports the number one selling lemon- and orange-flavored vodkas in the U.S., so Absolut Lime feels like a natural extension.
Nearly 30 years ago, Absolut introduced Absolut Citron, a key component to the Cosmopolitan cocktail, and it has remained one of the most ubiquitous flavored vodkas ever since. But Absolut Lime is the brand’s first new flavor in four years. You can expect to find it on shelves soon, and you can expect to see a lot more of it next month, when the vodka partners with the 59th Grammy Awards in a big promotional push.
It’s hard to believe that Absolut Lime doesn’t already exist. With other flavors including Açaí, Wild Tea and its most recent debut, Cilantro, Absolut Lime is a straightforward release that should find favor with the vodka soda crowd. Although adding a squeeze of lime to your drink is hardly an arduous endeavor, the second best selling vodka in the U.S. aims to keep innovating in a crowded marketplace.
Absolut Lime will be available nationwide for an MSRP of $19.99 (750ml) and $24.99 (1L).
