Gin Reviews

Gin is a distilled spirit that can be made from a variety of base ingredients, with a popular choice being wheat, and other options including potatoes, grapes and even sugar beets. Once the base ingredient is fermented and distilled into a neutral spirit, flavoring agents called botanicals are added. These botanicals always feature juniper berries, which give gin its distinctive flavor, but can also include a liberal variety of citrus peels, roots, barks and herbs.

Gins range from London Dry, which is a traditional juniper-forward style to modern gins that are often characterized by softer flavors, less juniper and unique botanicals.

Gin can be consumed neat or over ice, if that’s your thing, but gin is typically mixed into cocktail recipes. The clean, bracing spirit is the backbone for many classics including the martini, negroni and gimlet. See below for all gins reviewed on Bevvy, and you just might find a new favorite.
