The Tuxedo No. 2 cocktail is a stiff drink that starts with a solid base of gin. And much like a classic martini, it pairs that gin with dry vermouth. Here, in ratios that favor more vermouth than your typical dry martini. Throw in some absinthe and maraschino, and you’ve got a floral, herbal drink that will keep you coming back for seconds.
Tuxedo No. 2 Cocktail Recipe
2 ounces gin
1 ½ ounces dry vermouth
1 dash absinthe
1 dash Maraschino liqueur
3 dashes orange bitters
Combine all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
If you like that, be sure to try to original Tuxedo cocktail, which pairs gin with sherry and orange bitters.
