What is a Mug?
Mugs are used for all sorts of cocktails, especially ones that are served hot. Lots of classic recipes, from the Hot Toddy to the Hot Buttered Rum, are perfectly at home in a coffee or tea mug—and, in a pinch, we’ve been known to use them for drinks that normally don’t go anywhere near mugs.
Coffee and tea mugs are fine for most hot cocktails, but certain drinks call for specific designs. The Irish Coffee, for example, is commonly served in a clear glass Irish Coffee mug, which shows off the aesthetically-pleasing layers of cream and coffee.
