Neither would we. But ArKay Beverages Inc. has just introduced the world’s first (sometimes you’re first for a reason) “alcohol-free whiskey-flavored drink.”
It’s touted as an option for enjoying whiskey without all those pesky calories. And hangovers. The beverage undergoes no fermentation or maturation, so there’s no alcohol or sugar. So you can drink as much as you want without getting impaired. Obviously there’s some natural application for whiskey-lovers who can no longer drink for health reasons. But given the fact that alcohol, sugar and maturation produce all of whiskey’s flavor, we’re hard-pressed to think ArKay’s booze-less option truly tastes like the whiskeys we know and love.
From the company —
It took five years of beverage industry research, surveys, and tastings to create a genuine whisky-flavored alternative for mass consumption. To date, the response from the public has been incredible, Polky says, and the secret recipe for this whisky-replacement is in accordance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
The beverage is not a replacement to the real thing but is a promising answer for those who enjoy the taste of a drink, a shot, or a cocktail but can’t do it due to personal responsibilities or medical reasons. Envision, for example, being able to enjoy several whisky-flavored drinks at a social gathering without the worry of driving home. Further envision the enjoyment without the calories, fat or sugar associated with other beverages.
This begs the question: would YOU drink an alcohol-free whiskey-flavored beverage? Sound off below.

I tried it and if you know nothing about scotch I think you would like it. Warning however. This company is very hard to deal with. It look almost 6 months to get the product after I paid for it. They don’t answer phones or emails.
And they barely speak english when you finally reach them. Good Luck!
So how does it taste? Give us an informed report.
It’s like a condom with holes in it!
I will drink a couple of shots mixed with my diet, caffeine free koke
I’d give it a shot. The worst thing that could happen is that it doesn’t taste good and you spent a couple bucks on a gamble. So what?
I often will have just a glass or two before going to bed. That’s clearly not enough to get me drunk, so what do I care about the alcohol content?
These other commenters need to lighten up.
Not a chance
No way
Just to be different . . . the next time I’m a designated driver I might give it a try. I don’t hold out much hope, but I’d try it at least once. I can’t think of another situation where it would make sense for me, but this does happen.
YES YES I WOULD LIKE TO TRY ARKAY TODAY OR TOMORROW. IT IS INTERESTING AND I AM A VERY COOL WOMAN SO WHEN I GO TO THE PUB WITH MY CAR ARKAY WILL BE THE SECURITY FOR ME…
Eh, I think it’s probably good for some people just like Odouls beer. If/when I become a hardcore alcoholic, I’ll check in with these guys.
Wha??? I don’t evne like whiskey, but still, my answer is no. Alcohol is called alcohol for a reason. It has alcohol in it. End of story.
No… but I would punch this dude in the face. What a dumb idea. I love whiskey, but no one solely drinks it for the taste. I doubt this company sells 100 bottles before going baknrupt.
