Hennessy Paradis Impérial was created by Hennessy Master Blender Yann Fillioux in 2011. The brandies that make it into the final blend are sourced from one of the oldest libraries of eaux de vie in the world. And only 10 out of 10,000 eaux de vie of any given vintage are eligible to become part of this cognac.
So if you get a chance to try it, by all means, do so. We had that chance on a recent night in Dallas that brought Hennessy to town alongside actor Josh Henderson (Dallas, The Arrangement) who’s part of the brand’s Made of Precision campaign that highlights all the precise selection, maturation and blending required to make Hennessy Paradis Impérial.
It was our first brush with this particular expression. And considering a bottle retails for $2,800, it might be our last. But if you’ve got some cash to spare, it’s a delicious indulgence. So if you do get your hands on a bottle, here’s what you can expect via the official tasting notes.
Hennessy Paradis Impérial Tasting Notes
Color: Light amber.
Nose: The floral freshness of jasmine and orange blossom blended with the subtle herbal notes of freshly cut grass.
Palate: A fine, light structure. The floral notes of the bouquet are also present in the flavor, tinged with a smoky, spicy accent that leads into a subtle persistence.
