seer sucker cocktailSummer is an exciting time, especially for that one guy at your office who waits all winter to break out his seersucker suit. If you work for Congress, you probably wore one too on annual Seersucker Day.  But you don’t have to buy new clothes to hop on this trend – just down a Seersucker Cocktail and you won’t care what you’re wearing.

New York mixologist Brian Miller created the Seersucker cocktail by starting with Flor de Cana rum.  He added cinnamon bark syrup, muddled strawberry and lemon juice to complete the drink.  Served over crushed ice, it’s a nice way to stay cool during the summer months, especially if pin stripes aren’t your thing.

The Seersucker

2 oz. Flor de Caña white rum
1/2 oz. cinnamon bark syrup
1 oz. lemon juice
1 1/2 strawberries

Muddle one strawberry, then shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into a pilsner glass with crushed ice. Garnish with ½ strawberry.
