Tanqueray has something new for us with the limited release of Tanqueray Bloomsbury Gin. This juniper-forward expression comes from Master Distiller Tom Nichol, who found inspiration for this gin from an old Tanqueray family recipe dating back to about 1880. At that time, the distillery was located in Bloomsbury, England. Hence the name.
Tanqueray Bloomsbury Gin features prominent notes of Tuscan juniper along with botanicals like coriander, angelica, winter savoury and cassia bark.
“I wanted to make something that was completely different from our other limited editions and with this gin I do feel we have achieved that. It is very inspirational to work with an original Tanqueray family recipe, and for it to taste this good,” said Nichol.
This launch follows other interesting, well-made releases like Tanqueray Old Tom in 2014 and Tanqueray Malacca in 2013, so we’re paying attention.
Availability begins July 2015 at bars and specialty retailers, with 100,000 bottles available at a suggested retail price of $32.99.
