Let’s kick off the weekend with some tequila cocktails. These come courtesy of Tequila Partida, a 100% agave spirit from Mexico’s Tequila Valley Region.
Southern Heat
1 ½ ounces Partida Blanco
¾ ounce Cointreau
1 ounce fresh lime juice
6 slices skinned cucumber
2-3 slices jalapeno
¼ ounce simple syrup
Muddle cucumber, jalapeno, lime juice and simple syrup. Add ice, tequila and Cointreau. Shake and strain over fresh ice into an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with cucumber slices.
Ruby Partida
1 ½ ounces Partida Reposado
1 ½ ounces fresh grapefruit juice
½ ounce Cointreau
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
½ ounce French Cassis
Shake first four ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, then slowly pour French Cassis down the inside of the glass so it settles at the bottom.
If you prefer to sip your tequila, Partida also produces an Anejo (aged 18 months; $70) and Elegante Extra Anejo (aged 36-40 months; $350).
