Produced at the Royal Oak Distillery in County Carlow, Ireland, The Busker is the only distillery in Ireland that’s making all three classic Irish whiskey styles: Single Grain, Single Malt, and Single Pot Still, in addition to a very solid blended whiskey. Now the brand has added to its portfolio with its first small batch expression: The Busker Small Batch Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey.
Single pot still Irish whiskey is made by a single distillery and uses a mix of malted and unmalted barley. The Busker’s release is matured in first-fill bourbon casks, finished in Oloroso sherry casks, and then bottled at 46.3% ABV.
The whiskey is soft and friendly, with aromatic notes of sherried fruits, leather, cigar box, and baking spices. It’s full-bodied and well-rounded on the palate, with rich figs and oak leading to a smooth finish.
The Busker Small Batch Single Pot Still is available for purchase at select retailers and through the brand’s website at $49.99 for a 700mL bottle.
