Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Series Comes Stateside
Jack Daniel’s has announced that it’s making its Master Distiller Series No. 1 Whiskey nationally available this fall. Prior to this expansion, the product was only available in select travel retail spots and Tennessee outlets. The special 86 proof whiskey commemorates the seven master distillers in the brand’s history since the distillery began making whiskey almost 150 years ago. The bottles carry a suggested retail price of $24.99.
Introducing Redbreast 21 Year Old
Redbreast, that critically-acclaimed Irish whiskey and one of our personal favorites, is launching a new expression — Redbreast 21 Year Old. The whiskey is triple distilled in copper pot stills and then matured in a combination of American bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It’s bottled at 46% ABV, non chill filtered and available in limited quantities for about $180.
New Rum from Mauritius
Anchor Distilling Company is continuing to amass quite a portfolio. On the heels of bringing four new Japanese whiskeys to the U.S. market, they’ve set their sights on rum. Penny Blue XO Single Estate Mauritian Rum is distilled in small batches at the Medine Distillery in Mauritius before sitting in barrels for about seven years. The first batch of individually numbered bottles will be sold in the United States with a suggested retail price of $79.99.
The Latest from The Balvenie
The Balvenie has just released its newest expression – Tun 1401, Batch 9. This rare dram includes exceptional liquids hand selected from a variety of traditional casks and sherry butts by Malt Master, David Stewart. It’s full of sherried fruit, mature oak, chocolate and spice. It’s bottled at 49.3% ABV and will set you back about $250.
Any clue when the Jack Daniels Distiller Series #2 is going to be available… A buddy bought me #1 in Mexico so now I’ve got to get em all 🙂
