July 14th is Bastille Day. Which means that our drinks are donning striped shirts and berets to celebrate.
This Bastille Day-inspired cocktail features all French spirits. It has equal parts liberty, equality and fraternity. Plus lime juice. So get out there and celebrate la Fete Nationale the way our forebears did — by knocking back some drinks and making questionable decisions. Just… try to stay out of the gunpowder this time.
Tennis Court Oath
3/4 oz Remy Martin V
3/4 oz Lillet Blanc
3/4 oz Yellow Chartreuse
3/4 oz lime juice
2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
Vieux Pontarlier AbsintheShake all ingredients (minus absinthe) and strain into a chilled, absinthe-rinsed coupe. Garnish with a lime twist.
A couple of these, and that pencil thin mustache you’ve been contemplating will seem like a great idea.
