Cocktail Enthusiast has teamed up with the good people at Cocktails & Classics, the LOGO TV show that combines good drinks with classic films. Each week, Michael Urie and friends will take a close look at campy, quotable movies like Clue, Showgirls and Hairspray while drinking CE-provided cocktails.
For the April 9th episode, we’re reaching for the Corny Collins, a drink named for the host of the Corny Collins Show portrayed in Hairspray. It’s basically your classic Tom Collins, but made with corn vodka instead of gin. It’s light, refreshing and exactly what you need after dancing on a popular 1960s TV show.
Corny Collins
2 oz Tito’s Vodka (or corn vodka of choice)
.75 oz fresh lemon juice
.75 oz simple syrup
Club soda
Add first three ingredients to a collins glass with ice, then top with soda and give it a stir with your straw. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Cocktails & Classics airs Sundays at 8/7C.
