This continues our series on breakfast drinks, where we highlight those cocktails that fortify our mornings with the gin, whiskey and resolve we need to keep going. Next up: this vodka-spiked coffee concoction to start your day.
The Knickerbocker is the only five-star hotel located in Times Square, and it’s also the place to go for a Siberian Summer. That would be the handsome cocktail featured below. Starting with a base of rich, low-acid Stumptown Cold Brew, the drink employs vodka, orgeat and a couple flavorful liqueurs for an end result that’s exactly what your morning needs.
SIBERIAN SUMMER
3 oz Stumptown Cold Brew
1 oz Stolichnaya Vodka
.75 oz Orgeat
.5 oz Frangelico
.25 oz Rum Chata
2 dashes vanilla bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice, then pour slowly into a highball glass with fresh ice, making sure froth rises to the top. Garnish with a sprinkling of cinnamon.
