The Tennessee Whiskey Trail launched in 2017, an effort by the Tennessee Distillers Guild to celebrate the state and its signature spirit, and today it has more than 30 stops. Twelve of those distillers, including Jack Daniel’s, Company Distilling, Nashville Barrel Co., and Old Glory Distilling, recently banded together to create a unique 12-barrel blend featuring whiskeys from across the state. Each barrel was aged for a minimum of four years.

The blend was created at Sugarlands Distilling Company under Master Distiller Greg Eidam. The unique expression celebrates the diversity and depth of the state’s spirits scene.

For Eidam, the challenge to blend 12 varied whiskeys into a cohesive, cask-strength bottle was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Blending whiskeys is an artform that challenges the blender to really pay attention to the nuances, notes and characteristics of the barrels,” he said. “Each participating distillery carefully selected their barrel based on its own unique flavor to meticulously create this collaboration of Tennessee spirits.”

Brand notes promise aromas that are sweet and fruity, with apple, pear, cola, and cherry. The palate brings dark fruit and steeped tea leaves, with a bittersweet finish of toasted sugar, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.

The Tennessee Collective commemorative blend is available to pre-order for $79. But it won’t be shipped out. Each bottle must be picked up Saturday, Nov. 1 from 1-3 p.m. EST at the Townsend Visitors Center in Townsend, TN. So, if you’re not local, start planning your trip now.
