The Glenrothes produces a lineup of fine vintage single malt whiskies, and now they’re introducing three new non-age statement expressions dubbed The Reserve Collection. This includes the Sherry Cask Reserve, Bourbon Cask Reserve and Vintage Reserve. Each whisky is a blend of rare and limited vintages aged in a distinct manner. Here’s a visual aid:
And here’s the rundown:
Sherry Cask Reserve
This is the first Glenrothes expression that is aged exclusively in first-fill sherry casks, and it’s matured predominantly in European oak, which gives it lots of that resinous, dried fruit character and sherry top notes. 40% ABV / $59.99 / BUY
Bourbon Cask Reserve
This whisky is matured exclusively in American oak barrels that once held bourbon. These casks deliver flavors of vanilla, citrus and soft floral notes, which makes for a dram that’s creamy, sweet and well-balanced. 40% ABV / $59.99
Vintage Reserve
Here an expression that’s comprised of 10 different vintages from the last three decades: 1989, 1992, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. That’s quite a combo. And all those vintages have been aged in a variety of casks, with the older vintages lending mellow oak and dried fruits alongside the sweet vanilla and lemon citrus notes of the younger vintages. 40% ABV / $54.00 / BUY
The Reserve Collection is available now across the U.S. Enjoy yourself.
