Here’s a challenge. Make a cocktail that incorporates vodka and green chartreuse. It should be spicy but not too spicy. Oh, and it has to be frozen.
Pepper vodka and green chartreuse don’t make the most common of pairings, but in the Tri-Star cocktail, they work together like old friends. The peppery base doesn’t get lost among the strong complementary flavors. The herbal chartreuse packs a flavorful punch, the strawberry adds some serious refreshment, the lemon keeps the sweetness in check and the absinthe ties the room together. Everything’s got a part to play, and they play it well.
So break out your blender. Because it’s summer, and right now, there’s no such thing as too much ice.
Tri-Star
2 oz Absolut Peppar
.5 oz fresh lemon juice
.5 oz Green Chartreuse
1 oz simple syrup
1 dash Pernod Absinthe
1 Large Strawberry
Add all ingredients to a blender with plenty of ice. Blend until smooth. Garnish with a strawberry.
