Woodford Reserve is best known for its flagship bourbon, but in recent years the Kentucky distillery has expanded its purview to include a rye whiskey, wheat whiskey, and other unique expressions. The latest to debut is a Woodford Reserve Blended Malt, a new limited-edition bottle that’s part of the brand’s Distillery Series.
The Distillery Series was created to push Woodford Reserve’s creative boundaries and introduce new expressions to the market. In this case, Blended Malt combines two different malt whiskeys: One 100% malt aged in used barrels and then finished in a ruby port barrel, and another that combines five different styles of malt grains aged in new oak barrels.
“This showcases our ability to take complex barrels of whiskies, blend them together and create a new flavorful product,” said Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall.
The limited-edition Woodford Reserve Blended Malt is available now in limited quantities at select Kentucky retailers and at the Woodford Reserve Distillery. It has a suggested price of $64.99 and is packaged in a 375 mL bottle. Until you get a bottle for yourself, here are some tasting notes from the brand.

Interesting review. It is always nice seeing established whiskey brands experiment with different styles while still keeping some of the character people already associate with them. The tasting notes here made this release sound genuinely worth trying.
Interesting read. Woodford Reserve experimenting with a blended malt whiskey adds a different layer to how people think about American whiskey, especially for those who usually associate the brand with bourbon. The tasting notes and production angle make this one sound worth exploring.

Great breakdown of this releas, really enjoyed the way you described the flavor profile and how it stands out from more traditional bourbons. Woodford Reserve always seems to find a nice balance between innovation and staying true to its roots. This one definitely sounds like something worth trying, especially for anyone curious about blended malts with a bit more depth.
This is an engaging look at Woodford Reserve’s continued innovation, and the Blended Malt sounds like a fascinating addition to their lineup. The detailed tasting notes really bring the experience to life, especially the balance of fruit and spice. It’s always exciting to see brands push creative boundaries whether in spirits or even in everyday services like Pool service Henderson Nv, where quality and attention to detail make all the difference.
