February 29. It’s a day that only comes around once every four years, so it’s probably a day worth celebrating. Partly because we get an extra day to do whatever, but mostly because we choose to spend that extra day drinking gin. And since there’s a cocktail for literally every occasion, try this: the Spirited Leap. It features the unique, berry-laced Brockmans Gin and is like a fruit salad in a glass.
SPIRITED LEAP
2 oz Brockmans Gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
4 raspberries
6 blackberries
Muddle raspberries, blackberries and simple syrup in a shaker. Add gin and lemon, then add ice and shake. Strain into a tumbler filled with crushed ice. Top with more crushed ice, then garnish with berries and a sprig of mint.
