The 88th Academy Awards is this Sunday, February 28. So if you’re into such things, it’s your chance to celebrate film’s biggest night of the year and see who will go home with that coveted gold bald man. We don’t care quite so much about the awards ceremony itself, but we do care deeply about cocktails that can and probably should be consumed during the show. That’s where the Gran Affair comes in.
This rum-spiked cocktail sports fruity notes of pears, red currants and sweet honey, which are complemented by lemon juice, pineapple syrup, honey syrup and the herbaceous touch of dill. The result is a light, refreshing cocktail that you can keeping sipping throughout the three-hour broadcast. Here’s how to make it.
1.5 oz Bacardi Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron
.75 oz Lemon Juice
.75 oz Pineapple syrup (1:1 ratio of sugar to pineapple juice)
.25 oz Honey syrup (1:1 ratio of honey to water)
1 sprig dill
Shake first four ingredients with plenty of ice, then double strain your cocktail into a coupe glass, and garnish with that sprig of dill.
