There’s never a wrong time to drink scotch. But when the weather turns cold, that’s most certainly the right time because there’s just something about those rich, smoky drams that are extra appealing during winter. It’s like the boozy equivalent of a cozy blanket and a warm fire. Except better, because it’s scotch. So below, we’ve got four scotch cocktails, each employing Ardbeg, that peaty Islay single malt. And three of the four contain activated charcoal, so there’s that.
BLACK NAIL
2 oz Ardbeg 10 year
.5 oz Drambuie
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1/2 tsp activated charcoal
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice, stir until chilled and strain into a rocks glass. Express the lemon oil above the drink and garnish.
