Cocktail Enthusiast has teamed up with the fine people at Cocktails & Classics, the LOGO TV show that combines good drinks with cult classic films. Each week, Michael Urie and friends will take a close look at campy, quotable movies like Clue, Showgirls and Soapdish while drinking CE-provided cocktails.
For the April 30th episode, the Cocktails & Classics crew will be airing Soapdish and drinking tequila. In this case, the reposado-spiked Sun Also Sets. This fresh take on the Tequila Sunrise uses real grenadine–the kind make from actual pomegranate, rather than the fake, bright red stuff. It’s refreshing and easy-drinking, whether you’re imbibing as the sun goes down or having two with breakfast.
The Sun Also Sets
1.5 oz reposado tequila
4 oz fresh orange juice
.5 oz grenadine (the good kind)
Add grenadine, orange juice and tequila, in that order, to an ice-filled glass. Garnish with an orange wheel. Stir with your straw and serve.
